WHAT: Press conference showcasing new Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
going in every marked patrol vehicle at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
WHEN: TODAY, Thursday, September 12, 2019, 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Fleet Maintenance Garage, 2210 N Falkenburg Rd, Tampa, FL 33619 (behind HCSO District 2 Office)
The Sheriff has committed to putting an AED in every marked patrol car, allowing deputies to better assist people in a medical emergency.
"Our deputies are often the first to the scene," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "When someone is in sudden cardiac arrest every second counts. Which is why I feel it is so important to have an AED in every marked patrol car."
Sheriff Chronister will be joined by two deputies who recently used an AED to save the life of a Hillsborough County resident. The man who was saved will also be present. There will be a demonstration showcasing how an AED is used.
